"Shigeru Mizuki's War and the Newspaper" Exhibit

Now showing at the Newspaper Museum in Yokohama, Japan, is an exhibit curated with an intention to compare the works created under the theme of war by Mizuki and the newspaper articles of those times. Mizuki was a soldier fighting at the front line in the New Britain Island during WWII, and he also happened to be a very good artist and story teller. The juxtaposition of war seen through a soldier's eyes and war as told by the press works as an excellent trigger to make people think and think again, "what is the meaning of war?"
