this is the box set of the "tv party" dvd that was released in january. tv party was a weekly cable tv variety show in the late 70's, early 80's in NYC hosted by Glenn O'brien. other main casts included, Chris Stein and Debbie Harry of Blondie, artist Basquiat, musician Walter Steding etc. and countless super-star guests like George Clinton, Mick Jones, Andy Warhoal, David Bowie, Iggy Pop and so much more. but what's great about this show is that it was a total cheap DIY, spontaneous, non-scipt, party on TV that reflects that whole raw energy of the no-new-york scene where you can witness the real birth of punk, new wave, hip-hop, and graffiti culture. it's like all the creative energy of the time seemed to gather in this one show, ready to burst any minute. it's a must see for all....japanese version exclusively released from presspop!
